Characterization of electrode charges and forces in an electrohydrodynamic thruster

Corona discharge generates an electrohydrodynamic (EHD) flow and a reactive thrust between electrodes in the air. Although theory for this two has been thoroughly developed, mechanism responsible forces acting on electrode surfaces is not well understood. Here, we numerically experimentally investigate these charges that generate them. The results show emitter collector surface deviate from equality of capacitive as initiates. As applied voltage increases, charge maintains its initial onset value, while volume linearly increase.
